Room 21 - Maths Inquiry - Financial Literacy

Over the last couple of weeks we have been learning about financial literacy. In the groups, Samoa, Ireland, Fiji and Italy we have been tasked with finding flats, cars, household appliances, beds and other things for flatting.  At the moment we are learning how to budget for weekly expenses and how much it would cost to set up a flat.

Things that we will be investigating a bit further are;
  • Debit and credit interest (Savings and cheque accounts)
  • Personal loans and credit cards
  • How to budget
  • The cost of living
  • How to find a flat, car or house
  • The cost of average wages in NZ

As parents, you will be well informed and experts on financial literacy so please feel free to talk about this with your child at home.
